16-year olds' understanding of sexual exploitation
Summary of the report Responsibility in transition: 16-year olds' understanding of sexual exploitation, by social anthropologist Ingrid Smette (NOVA). The study explores how adolescents understand concepts relating to sexual exploitation and abuse. It also investigates their perceptions of youths' and adults' different roles in relationships that the judicial system defines as exploitative or abusive. The report is a result of the research project Commercialisation and sexualisation of adolescence: The right to one's own life, initiated by several Norwegian NGOs working with children and adolescents, including Save the Children Norway.
