Final report on the implementation of Safer Internet Programme in Poland in 2005-06 In Poland within the Programme since 2005 two projects have been conducted: Awareness ? which aims at raising awareness of Internet-related threats and Hotline ? dedicated to combating illegal content on the Internet. Organizations involved in these two activities are Nobody?s Children Foundation and NASK (Research and Academic Computer Network).

Polish Internet project Sieciaki.pl focusing on educating young Internet users to use Internet safely is among finalists of the Baltic Challenge Award 2006. The project has been developed by the Nobody?s Children Foundation in cooperation with interactive agency IMPartner (see more: www.sieciaki.pl).

On June 3rd 2005 in Radisson Hotel in Warsaw a conference "Safer Internet" was held under honorary patronage of the president of the Capital City Warsaw. The conference was organised by the Nobody?s Children Foundation and NASK a consortium realising Safer Internet Action Plan (SIAP). SIAP is a EU programme dealing with illegal and harmful content on the Internet. "Safer Internet" conference in Warsaw inaugurated a cycle of similar events to be held in all 16 provincial cities in Poland.
NIFC Hotline opens in Poland

Poland is first among the new EU Member States to have opened a contact point for combating illegal content on the Internet. The Polish hotline was launched on 1 January 2005.

The celebrations of the Safer Internet Day in Poland this year saw the launch of SIECIAKI (www.sieciaki.pl) - an innovative Internet project focusing on educating children and teenagers to use the Internet safely.
Paedophilia and Pornography on the Internet: Threats to Children

Report from the first Polish survey on the phenomenon of pedophilia and pornography on the Internet conducted in 2003 by Nobody's Children Foundation. The study focused on: children's risky behavior on the Internet, experiences of unwanted chatting and sexual proposals and unwanted display of abuse images. The results confirmed among others that 87% of children is exchanging personal data with persons met on the line.
