Author: The committee of experts on the protection of children against sexual exploitation and abuse (PC-ES) Council of Europe
Document title: Meeting Report for attention of the CDPC - 1 st Meeting, Strasbourg 22-24 May 2006
The meeting had two main objectives, namely the promotion of children's rights within the Council of Europe member States and in particular the protection of children against all forms of violence, including sexual violence. During the three days, the committee examined whether a new legally-binding instrument to protect children against sexual exploitation and abuse is necessary, and if so what the main parameters of such a text would be.
