Matching Grants for International Humanitarian Projects
Program information:http://www.rotary.org/foundation/grants/matching/index.html
The Rotary Foundation has a program for matching contributions raised by Rotary clubs and districts for international service projects involving Rotary clubs in two or more countries.
Criteria
The most basic criteria for getting grants from the Matching Grants for International Humanitarian Projects is that the project must provide for humanitarian need for economically disadvantaged and provide for assistance that is not being met by local or other sources. The project must also have visible Rotary identification and include Rotary clubs in tow different countries. If a Matching Grant project will be conducted in cooperation with another non-Rotary organisation there are some additional conditions that must be met. There must be a substantial Rotary involvement and have a clear Rotary identification. This grant will neither fund projects that are primarily sponsored by non-Rotary organisations or existing projects.
Application
Find a local Rotary Club that is interested in working with a project and that can find a sponsoring Rotary Club in a different country. Rotarians can make applications for Matching Grants between 15 July and 31 March. Any applications received after the 31 March deadline will be returned to sponsors who can update the request and re-apply the following Rotary year.
Helping Grants
http://www.rotary.org/foundation/grants/helping/index.html
Helping Grants are awarded to projects in non-Rotary countries and/or countries where the local Rotary club could not provide significant Rotarian involvement and oversight. Therefore, Helping Grants projects must be initiated, sponsored, and monitored by a Rotary club or district (the club or district outside of the country where the project will take place), which assumes full leadership and responsibility for the project.

LCIF Standard Grants
Information funding: http://www.lcif.org/standard.html
The LCIF Standard grants are to address the humanitarian needs of communities throughout the world. It is the category of grants with which most Lions are or will be involved. Typical projects include the development of children's hospices, care centers for the elderly, camps for special needs children, rehabilitation and vocational assistance programs for disabled persons. Also, Standard grants address universal needs such as health care.
Criteria
Grants shall be authorized for projects meeting diverse human needs not adequately addressed by other programs, having a distinct Lions identification and character, and providing long-term benefits. Projects serving many people shall be preferred because of more favorable cost effectiveness, economies of scale and lower costs per amount of service.
Grants may be authorized for non-Lions organizations or programs only when their services and facilities would significantly contribute to LCIF's purposes and when their specific capabilities, resources, economies and efficiency must represent a significant addition to such a program's service capacity.
