Sociological research in the sphere of youth is one of YRYIC activities. A sociological poll is an important element of revealing real state in the youth environment. It makes it possible to bring to light urgent youth problems and tendencies of the development of social processes.

The results of such research work make it possible to work out activity programs for social institutions working with youth, based on the state in the youth environment and to help in carrying out these programs evaluating the efficiency of their work.

YRYIC carries out sociological polls of teenagers, young people and young families in Yaroslavl region in order to study urgent social youth problems: the problems of social status of young people and young families; their attitude to problems concerning alcohol and drug addiction and AIDS; problems of youth tolerance; problems of getting a job; values of young people etc.

In its sociological research YRYIC uses all possible external resources: it draws specialists of various social youth institutions and young volunteers in carrying out polls; not only works out the research plan but also teaches forms and methods of sociological research.
