Childrenīs Forensic Psychiatry Unit of the Child Psychiatry Department at the Tampere University Hospital
Tampere University Hospital is one of five university hospitals in Finland. It has a catchment area of 1 million people with approximately 25% of the population under 18 years of age.

The child psychiatric department of the University Hospital has an outpatient and an inpatient department. In the outpatient department we have diffrent  units for general child psychiatry, infant psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, home treatment and forensic psychiatry. The Forensic Psychiatry Unit was started in the beginning of year 2001 with special funding from the Finnish government.

The staff consists of one child psychiatrist, one psychologist and one social worker, and one psychiatric nurse. Dr Kaija Puura is the head of all outpatient units of the Forensic Psychiatry Unit.
