Under the auspices of the Austrian Commission for UNESCO the ACPC Austrian Center of Philosophy with Children organizes the International Conference "Philosophy of Interculturality"

The ability of children and young people to participate in intercultural dialogue is basic for orientation in a globalized world. The aim of the conference is to foster the intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue and the exchange between the different approaches and theories in the context of the contemporal world. Therefore we have to meet great challenges, especially in view of the important renewal in the relationship between interculturalism, ethnic identities, interdisciplinarism and transdisciplinarism. This is reflected in the changes of the curricula in the field of education. Just here the conference aims to grasp the increasingly intense and critical debates - especially in Europe - about the meaning of "curricula" and develop new concepts. It is intended that this international congress is an intercultural and interdisciplinary forum for gaining new insights into multicultural orientation as well as for functional pedagogical objectives. Recent scientific results and practice-oriented projects, e.g. Philosophy with Children and Youths, will be introduced. The program offers the approximately 150 participants from 18 countries, among them 24 speakers an eventful conference. The Themes of the conference covers the following fields: * Intercultural Dialogue * Philosophy of Human Rights * Transculturalism and Transdisciplinarism * Pluralistic dimension of Philosophy for Children * Culture, Integration and Education * The Concept of (multiple) identity/ies * Citizenship and Democracy * Lifelong Learning Place: Karl-Franzens-University Graz, Meerscheinschlößl, Mozartgasse 3, A-8010 Graz Conference fee: Eur 50, students and members Eur 30 Bank details : Account holder: Österreichische Gesellschaft für Kinderphilosophie Bank: Stmk.
