Priority directions in work during 2001 year in the center Otradnoye
1. The problem of the rights of children has been analyzed and the leaflet of family codes for children and their parents with recitations of their rights and musts has been published in our center. The system of work with children, their parents and relatives concerning the Child rights Convention, family laws, legislative documents have been worked out.
2. The system of cooperation with the Federal State and municipal authorities of science and education, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other organizations, which are intended to help such institutions as ours to protect the rights of children.
3. The program of increasing of culture of getting knowledge about the rights of children, their parents, relatives and pedagogues works in our center. Within this program all new methods of working with children are published not only for specialists working in our center (social workers, psychologists, group-leaders etc.), but as well as for specialists of other institutions.
4. Several international projects connected with working with children and teenagers are being held in our center: UNISEF -Me and my family, Stockholm University -The net of social contacts, Holland- Learning by doing and some other Russian projects, the main of them The prevention of neglected behaviour among children and teenagers. Specialists from our center and from other institutions take part in workshops held by Russian and foreign specialists.
5. Sexually abused and cruelty-exploited children are being treated by various forms of work on the base of individual correctional psychologico-socio-medico-pedagogical program. A great number of methodological papers help specialists of the center find the signs of sexual abuse or cruelty exploitation of children and teenagers.
Statistical figures
During 2001 year 304 of children and teenagers were rehabilitated in our center. 63% of them were taken to the center in the period of current psychological trauma, 37% of them were children with posttraumatic syndrome.
14% of these children and teenagers were the victims of the sexual abuse, 4% of these 14% were forced to be prostitutes in the streets of Moscow.
46% of all children complained on the cruelty of their parents and relatives and 13% of children underwent cruel and commercial treatment living in the streets.
